Rockford, IL - Amberwood Care Centre

 Amberwood Care Centre recently received their certification from the Illinois Department of Public Health, for their specialized Alzheimer's and Memory Loss Unit, New Beginnings.  Rosalind Tipton, RN and New Beiginnings Director is excited about this new step for the program.  "We will continue to provide the quality, person-centered care, along with various activities, all designed to enhance the lives of our residents." Rosalind went on to say, "Along with the physical updates of the unit that are in progress, we are always updating our programs as well."
  To celebrate the state's certification, Amberwood Care Centre hosted a party for residents and their families, as well as staff members.  With the focus of the party on Alzheimer's/Memory loss care, Rosalind pinned purple ribbons on each of the attendees. Purple is the signature color of the Alzheimer's Association.  "Brain healthy" snacks and beverages were also served, including a variety of berries, vegetables, hummus and green tea.  Everyone had a good time and was excited to discuss the always progressing New Beginnings program.
