Amberwood Care Centre - Rockford, IL

Amberwood Care Centre is happy to announce that the 6% cuts in Medicaid reimbursement rates, that the Illinois General Assembly had proposed, was not included in their budget for Governor Quinn. The Health Care Council of Illinois worked tirelessly to stop the cuts from happening.  They organized and promoted a 17 city tour through Illinois, holding rallies, collecting signatures and speaking out against the proposed cuts. The cuts would have meant the loss of hundreds of jobs for health care providers, but even more serious, it would have affected the care available for those in need.  Amberwood is proud to have been one of the stop and to host a rally. Coverage from local news groups and television stations, helped reached even more people in the area.
